our small celebration

We hit 33 years of matrimonial bliss yesterday the last day of September.  The morning we spent doing everyday things, working, me heading to town to pick up a few things. I then made homemade pizza for lunch which turned out yummy!

After lunch we headed to the Mississippi river to Prairie du Chien to see if there were any color changes there and we were a bit disappointed that there really were none.  Not like in our area.  Jim had to check out another ledge.  I stayed where I was just so I could take his picture.  The buzzards where flying right over his head with one getting pretty close.

Flying close

Then he decided to climb a bit higher.

Out on the ledge again

We spent a bit of time there, just enjoying the view and our day.

Sitting on the edge

We ended our day with a wonderful dinner and a warm welcome from Sadie who was ever so exctied to see us, until I remembered I had my dinner leftovers in my hand which Sadie thought were going to be her's.  So much for the warm welcome :)

the sun goes down on 32 years

Last year on our 31st Anniversary...I would never have guessed that we would be living in Southwest Wisconsin...and on our 30th Anniversary...I would never have guessed that we would go from having 14 gandchildren to 20 grandchildren.

Not doing too much this year to celebrate.  Going out for dinner and getting ready to stain the outside logs this weekend.  Corry asked...Do you ever sleep Judy?  I laughed when I read that.  I do sleep, but it probably doesn't seem like that to you dear readers.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today.  I plan to enjoy the day with my dear husband.

a wonderful anniversary day it was

First off, I want to thank everyone for the Anniversary wishes.  Looking back it really doesn't seem like 30 years have gone by.

I woke up yesterday to a bouquet of Roses.

I've been wanting to make these muffins so I made a batch for us.  The only problem is the recipe does not make a lot, and you can't stop eating them they are so good.  Next time I am going to double or triple the recipe.

Pumpkin Carrot Muffins

1/2 cup pumpkin

1/3 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp. oil

1/2 cup grated carrots

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

Beat together pumpkin, brown sugar, oil and egg.  Add in carrots.  In a separate bowl, blend together flour, salt, soda, baking powder and cinnamon.  Add to the pumpkin mixture.  Pour muffins about 2/3 full.  Bake at 375° for 10-14 minutes.

Makes 6 muffins

Then Jim took me to lunch at a cute little cafe.

All good signIts all good

We ended up eating outside.  It was such a wonderful Autumn day.  This place has the most delicious sandwiches.

Our lunch

Since this day is not all about me, Jim took the afternoon off and went golfing :).  I spent the afternoon finishing up visiting the blogs I enjoy and then I worked on the knitting project I have going.

Then it was off to dinner at one of our favorite places.  I think we have been here for our anniversary a few times.  A lovely way to end a wonderful day.

Well, yesterday I did finish another knitting item for my shop, and then started on anther project for it.  I will post about that later.

You all have a wonderful day today.
