the sun goes down on 32 years

Sun setting

Last year on our 31st Anniversary...I would never have guessed that we would be living in Southwest Wisconsin...and on our 30th Anniversary...I would never have guessed that we would go from having 14 gandchildren to 20 grandchildren.

Not doing too much this year to celebrate.  Going out for dinner and getting ready to stain the outside logs this weekend.  Corry asked...Do you ever sleep Judy?  I laughed when I read that.  I do sleep, but it probably doesn't seem like that to you dear readers.

I hope you all have a wonderful day today.  I plan to enjoy the day with my dear husband.

they surprised us

I told you that all the kids were going to be here this weekend for our anniversary.  We started out with taco/nacho night.

Salsa and sour cream

Well, what we thought was going to be just dinner on Saturday night, turned out to be dinner, then a limo ride, that eventually brought us to a place where they had a surprise 30th anniversary party for us. But, during the limo ride we watched a video on a lap top of home movies of most of our kids, that we had taken on an old super 8 movie camera, that was put on a DVD and set to music.  Watching the video brought not only tears but smiles and laughter.  Most of our life was playing right before us.  Our super 8 movie camera broke not long after our 8th child, so we have no home movies of our last 3 :(

At the party there was a cake that was made exactly how our wedding cake was.  The only thing was the cake was made in two layers where our wedding cake was 4 layers.  I couldn't believe how the cake looked so much like our wedding cake.

I can't even begin to tell you how special Saturday night was for us.  But, not only Saturday night the whole weekend was special.  The kids planned this for months.  They even sent out invitations we found out last night.

Jim and I have some pretty wonderful children who married some pretty wonderful men and women.

a wonderful anniversary day it was

First off, I want to thank everyone for the Anniversary wishes.  Looking back it really doesn't seem like 30 years have gone by.

I woke up yesterday to a bouquet of Roses.

I've been wanting to make these muffins so I made a batch for us.  The only problem is the recipe does not make a lot, and you can't stop eating them they are so good.  Next time I am going to double or triple the recipe.

Pumpkin Carrot Muffins

1/2 cup pumpkin

1/3 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp. oil

1/2 cup grated carrots

3/4 cup whole wheat flour

1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

Beat together pumpkin, brown sugar, oil and egg.  Add in carrots.  In a separate bowl, blend together flour, salt, soda, baking powder and cinnamon.  Add to the pumpkin mixture.  Pour muffins about 2/3 full.  Bake at 375° for 10-14 minutes.

Makes 6 muffins

Then Jim took me to lunch at a cute little cafe.

All good signIts all good

We ended up eating outside.  It was such a wonderful Autumn day.  This place has the most delicious sandwiches.

Our lunch

Since this day is not all about me, Jim took the afternoon off and went golfing :).  I spent the afternoon finishing up visiting the blogs I enjoy and then I worked on the knitting project I have going.

Then it was off to dinner at one of our favorite places.  I think we have been here for our anniversary a few times.  A lovely way to end a wonderful day.

Well, yesterday I did finish another knitting item for my shop, and then started on anther project for it.  I will post about that later.

You all have a wonderful day today.
