it’s that time of year
February 27, 2018
Sugaring is here, well almost here, the sap is running slowly. I love this time of year as it’s the really sure sign that spring is just around the corner. It’s also that time of year to start to pull out the seed catalogs and plan what will be in the garden and what seeds I will start in the house. My favorite season is fall/autumn, but I’m really coming to love spring.
weekend of sewing
February 25, 2018
I stole away for the weekend to sew with some friends. The weather turned bad when we all settled in for our weekend of sewing. We didn’t mind, we were warm and had plenty of food, and lots of sewing projects to work on. I got done what I wanted to get done.
The place we stayed at is exactly the same driving distance for all 4 of us. It’s an area where there are many people who come to ice fish in the winter and fish in the summer.
It was really a nice getaway especially with winter still hanging on tight.
our icy world
February 21, 2018
Well the ice storm did hit us but not with the vengeance that most people around here thought it would, tho schools were closed, businesses and events as well were closed and cancelled. Mr and I did not venture out off the ridge, and when I say not with a vengeance we have had in the past really bad ice storms.
Now with February almost half done we are getting antsy for sugaring to start up again. I’m seeing posts from the northeast where sugaring has started and seeing those jars filled with that luscious maple syrup is really getting me excited.
So hopefully I’ll be posting about sugaring soon, but first we need to start warming up a bit.
it’s 2018

It’s definitely been a long time since I’ve posted. Winter is still here but instead of a snowstorm we are having freezing rain which is not nice to drive in so we are hunkering down and staying in since we really have no place we need to be.
Here’s what I’ve been doing, the guys came out hunting in early November, some of the kids came for thanksgiving and we went to Texas for Christmas this year and stayed down there for a month. We had a wonderful time. The weather was pretty chilly but we sure didn’t mind, being with our family down there was why we go.
We spent a lot of time with our kids and grandkids and had quite a few sleepovers with the grands.
I did manage to get some UFO’s finished. I finished my Chicago Cubs socks...yay!
Hopefully this will be the start of my blogging again.
