from my walk

Daisy and wire

It's been warm here the past few days but I've been still venturing out for my walk.  Along my walk I usually spy something that catches my eye and is photo worthy.

I'm starting to see some color changes in the sumac's.  I'm not too happy about that because it means winter is right around the corner.

You all have a wonderful weekend.

morning walk

Sunflowers

Monday has come around again, and on my morning walk this morning I saw some sunflowers growing along the side of the road.  I'm not sure if someone planted these or if they are volunteer sunflowers, either way I like them.

making yo-yo's

Yo-yo's

I can't believe that I have never made a yo-yo before.  I guess I have never made anything that required yo-yo's in the project, that is until now.  I'm making the Lollipop Lane wall hanging.  We'll see how it goes and if I get sick of making them.  So far I have 11 made and have 53 more to go.  But they are all cut and I can just sit and sew them up while watching a movie or one of my favorite shows.

Woke up this morning to a very foggy, damp and humid day, tho it's not that hot.  We also had some excitement with Sadie trying to fight the raccoon that got trapped inside the live trap.  She got bit by one awhile back and absolutely hates them now.  We've had some raccoon problems with them coming up on the deck making a mess in the bird feeders and actually ripping one of my bird feeders apart, and leaving calling cards with their mess that we have to clean up.

So they are not very welcome here I have to say.

Forgive me with the color changes on the blog.  I'm trying to figure out which background color I like, so I've been playing around some.

I wish you all an awesome day today.

jill of all trades

While in Illinois last week I stopped at the yarn shop that I used to go to and bought a couple of items.  I've been searching through the patterns on Ravelry for a pattern to make with this yarn, and I think I have narrowed it down.

Bag and yarn

And while sitting with my mom I worked on finishing the mittens I had started making with the yarn I spun.

Mittens

This morning I started thinking of all the things I love to do...knit...quilt...sew...weave...spin wool...just to name a few.  I guess you could say that I'm a jill/jack of all trades.  My mind got to thinking on how I LOVE doing all those things and more.  I couldn't see myself doing just one thing.  Maybe that's why sometimes it takes me a bit longer to finish things, but I don't mind.

So there you have it, I am a jill of all trades, master of none.
