a fall morning in wisconsin
October 26, 2014
I took this photo on our way to grandparents day, we were still in Wisconsin. We stopped to take a photo of something else and I spied this old barn.
I'm linking with Amy and The Barn Collective, a new barn meme.
grandparents day 2014

Our granddaughter Gwen who is in kindergarten invited us to come to her grandparents day a couple of weeks ago. Instead of going our usual way we drove up through Iowa into Minnesota.
Driving along Mr whipped around to check out this baby. In the early years of our marriage we had a 1969 Chevy Nova that was very similar to this one only ours was gray in color. Seeing this car brought back so many memories.
We went through a lot of small towns and here are shots of just a few of them.
During our travels we stopped out in the middle of nowhere to let Sadie out to stretch her legs and do her business.
The weather was just beautiful and Grandparents day was just wonderful.

We have been enjoying the fall we have been having.
We've taken a couple of quick trips and I've been doing a lot of sewing. I even went on a couple of quilt re-treats which were a lot of fun.
Mr and I went on a 50 mile tractor ride around the county. It was a long day but really fun.
Mr's been making wood for this winter, we're hoping to not have the furnace go on if we can help it. I need to finish painting the trim on the house, I'm half done and should really get it done before the temps really get too cold to paint.
Still loving our life here in the country.

Wow, I've been MIA for a long time. It's been so busy crazy here and it's not going to let up anytime soon. So, I'll try to catch you all up here and I hope I don't overload you with too many photos.
Before the girls came, Mr left to go to Illinois to go see the Cubs play down in Wrigley Field. I stayed home to get ready for the girls. I had found a book awhile back 101 fabulous Small Quilts at JoAnn fabrics and have been itching to make something from it.
After finishing up my cleaning I went down to the sewing room and made this small mat which is reversible.
The mat was made from the scraps leftover from my first bargello ever.
We recently celebrated our anniversary and spent the afternoon in Dubuque Iowa, and the drive on the way out there was beautiful. We visited the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium and had a wonderful dinner afterwards.
The colors have been just beautiful this fall.
Our neighbor invited us on their annual 4 wheeling/ATV trip. The weather was awesome.
Fall/Autumn in the Ocooch mountains has been just wonderful this year.
Too much to show you and too busy to post.
