On one of the days in Florida we got up before the sun came up and went shelling over at the Sanibel Lighthouse. I thought we would be the first ones there...Wrong...I think some people must get up at 3:00 in the morning to start shelling.
We came upon some fisherman's crab traps.
Jim starts lifting up the trap and I'm like "What are you doing?". Well, there was a nice shell underneath the trap and he wanted it :) At first I thought he wanted a crab.
This next photo maybe a bit out of focus, so sorry about that. I rushed the shot because this was a live shell and it was moving and I didn't want to miss him being out of his shell. You can see where the sand has been dug away trying to move. I threw this guy back in the water. Hopefully he didn't get washed up again.
If you ever get the opportunity to go shelling...do it. You see the most interesting shells just like the smallest one I found. Here I compared it against a dime and a straight pin.
I'm not really sure how I found this small shell. Everyone wants to get a big shell but I was pretty excited to find a small one as well.
I can't believe that it's been 5 day since I blogged here last. I have been blogging over at my photo blog more lately so head on over there if you want to see some more Florida photos.
You all have a wonderful day today.
