blessed sunday

i knew work was going to keep me from blogging like i used to

But, life has too. 

Here are the two babies that are living with us.  It's so fun to watch these two.  One is on the go nonstop and the other isn't moving yet and can only watch the one who can.

 

My knitting is going slow with so much going on in our life right now.  But, it'll get done.

The hens are still laying eggs everyday.  Tho we only get between 1-4 eggs a day.  We don't think all of them are laying yet.  The eggs are still pretty small but as the hens mature they'll be getting bigger.

There are some wonderful things happening in our life right now.  We have our health and it's great.  We have been eating healthier and it sure is paying off.  We also have our family and friends, but most of all we have our faith. 

Life is good.

egg breakfast

We ended up with 4 eggs yesterday morning.  When I pulled this one out of the nesting box it was still warm.

I ran to get my hair cut so Jim made his breakfast and had a surprise when he cracked open the green egg.  A double yoke inside.

Fresh farm eggs, homemade bread toasted, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, sausage, and the morning paper.

What a way to start the day.

Our first eggs found this morning.  The green one was found in the nesting box and the two brown eggs were found in the dusting pan.  I'm not sure how we are going to get them from laying there and not in the nesting box.

 

do i really need to learn something else?

You bet I do!  I got an e-mail from a gal last summer if anyone from our knitting group was interested in learning how to weave.  I was very interested.  So when I got another e-mail with all the info I quickly signed up and last night was my first class.  The instructor only takes about 7 students per session. 

I have to tell you I really loved it.  We started learning how to weave right away last night.  I couldn't believe it.  I guess I wasn't sure what to expect on the first night.  The class is only 2 hours long and runs for 10 weeks.  I didn't want it to end last night.  I wanted to keep going.  I really wished that I had taken my camera but I wasn't too sure how the instructor would feel about that.  Each of us works on our own loom and we had to put our names on them so we'll know which one is ours for next week. 

We'll be doing a project and I have to think of something to weave.  I'm thinking of making either a table runner or something for the top of our piano.  This will be a project that we won't be finishing in class.  We'll each get to take the loom we're working on home so we can finish our project and when we're done we give the loom back.  How trusting is that.

How many more days until the next class?  The week is going to go by sooooooooooooooo slow.

went looking for a yarn shop and found people ice fishing

Looking for a yarn shop on Saturday we saw a frozen lake in the town that had quite a few ice fishing houses.  Jim wanted to drive out there but I wanted no part of it.

I did manage to find some yarn for a sweater that I planned to make.  I had a hard time picking out a color tho.  There were so many to pick from and all types of yarn.  I was too excited to wait until my socks were done to start.  It's called the Tulip Lace Cardigan from the Cast On magazine.  We'll see how long it takes me to make this.

i can knit, i know i can

So, why can't I make a simple pair of socks?  My never ending pile of frogged socks amongst one finished sock.  Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I frogged these already once.  If you don't know what frogging means, it means....rip it, rip it, rip it.  When you say it fast it sounds like you're a frog.

 

We are heading to Minnesota today to visit our daughter and her family and to see our other two daughters who live there.  On the way I want to make a few stops.  I have my bag ready to go with my Fiber Mania! 2009-20010 Travel Guide and the WRBQ Inc, Complete Quilters Guide.  I have the 9th edition, maybe I should upgrade it now that there is a 14th edition out.  Or maybe I should just wait for the 15th edition that is coming out April 2010.  Plus I have my knitting magazines to look at along the way when I get tired of knitting those socks.  Now that my bag is packed I'm all ready to go...Oops!  I think I need to pack my clothes too :)

I want to thank you all for delurking in my last post.  It was fun to see some of the "lurkers" come out and it's always a joy to see the ones who have "delurked" long before this post.  I treasure your visits very much.
