Sunday morning Jim and I took Sadie down to the river for an icy winter walk. I got a tip from Anne about Yaktrax Walkers to put on your shoes for easy walking in the winter. These are great and do work well. Jim had a bit of a harder time walking then I did on the ice as he didn't have any on. A trip to Gander Mountain came up with a pair for him.
With the rain and warm weather that melted all our snow the river was pretty flooded. But, you could tell that it is starting to recede.
The beaver house looks pretty big with the water level down and the cattails gone.
You can see here where the river had first froze.
This bottom picture you can see the trees under the top ice layer, also the tree reflection in the ice and water.
Sadie loves to run when we are out for a walk, she'll run between Jim and I and at full tilt too.
There are just so many interesting things to see outside, all you have to do is just look around and you'll find it.
