Sewing Machine Pincushion...

I've been busy making these pincushions for the sewing machine.  My pincushion is never next to my sewing machine when I need it.  So I decided to make one that velcros onto my machine.  Now whenever I take the pins out I won't have to look for my pincushion.

This one though is featured in my Etsy Shop.

Now to get started...

on another apron for my Apron Swap Partner.

I just got the e-mail and I am really excited to get going on it.  The theme is "SPRING".  Now doesn't that sound wonderful?

I noticed at dinner last night that it is staying light out a bit longer now.  The days are getting longer. Yippee!!!!

I know it is Thursday, but I have to get up to the office for a few things, then I think I'll decide which apron pattern to make or maybe I'll make the style I always make.  Hmmm.....what will it be?

Well...I am off to start my day.

You all have a great day.

snow drifts...

I went on some errands yesterday.  Whenever I leave the house I usually take my camera with me.  You just never know when you might get a good picture.

Well.....I forgot it at home, and as I was leaving the bank I saw the most beautiful snow drifts.  At least I thought that they were beautiful.  So, I went back home, got my camera and went back to the bank to take pictures.  I was hoping and praying that the snow plow didn't come and plow them away, but I was in luck.  I had to drive back through the drive-up window lane to get to the snow drifts.  The ladies working the drive-up window must have thought that I was nuts taking pictures of snow.

The thing is, I loved all the shots and couldn't decided which picture to post, so I made a collage with all of them.

bargain time...

Now, I am not much at finding bargains.  I never ever hardly ever go shopping, so if I don't go shopping how can I find the bargains right?  Well today I was at Michaels getting a few things.  Standing in line I start talking to the cashier, just chit-chatting about anything.  She tells me about the wreaths that are 70% off and pointed to where this baby was, and said those are $3.00.  I asked her to repeat the price.  Yes, I had heard right, they were $3.00.

Well...I just had to get me one.  How could even I pass something up for $3.00, when the original price was $49.99.  It's a good thing I have a few things that need to go up in the attic other than this beauty.  I am getting excited for Christmas to come just so I can put this up.  Then again, it really doesn't look too much like Christmas, maybe I can just put it up anyway.

I totally meant to put the apron I just made in my Etsy shop.  I have been thinking about the Bloggy Giveaway since I saw it on Monday.  So halfway through making the apron I decided to give it away.  The last and only other giveaway I did was a lot of fun.  There are some really nice things being given away.  I spent last night going through the list, and entered quite a few.

Today is a very frigid day, a whopping -3°.  Yesterday the temp in my car said 50°.  We had very strong winds yesterday evening and through the night, and it snowed a bit too.  What a big change in the temp, from yesterday at this time.  Some schools are closed.  I am not too sure why, maybe a majority of the kids walk to school.

So whats on my agenda today....hmm lets see.  Today is office day.  I go up to the office on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  I don't spend all day up there just a few hours.  I am not really needed up there all day, so I just go up get my work done, then I can do my sewing or whatever else is on my agenda for the day.  I also will probably cut out and maybe sew another apron to put in my shop.

The other day I read Jennifer's blog about hair cuts.  Monday night I was in the kitchen.  I could hear a buzzing sound.  I thought that one of the boys was out doing something in the garage.  Pretty soon Dan yells to me..."Moooooooom, can you come here".  I'm thinking, Oh Boy, what happened.  So I go towards the back hall, there he is in the bathroom, he had just buzzed his head..."Can you help buzz the back of my head"?

I am like forever trying to get this guy to "CUT" his hair.  Now cutting and buzzing are really two different things to me, but I can't complain.  Really I can't, his hair is shorter now will grow a bit longer.  Then I can go back to complaining about his "long" hair again, and when is he going to get it cut.  I really don't mind "long" hair, just have it styled, but Dan is not one to "fuss" with his hair.  He's a "wash n' go" kind of guy.

So, off I go to start my day.

You all have a wonderful day, and try to stay warm.

Bloggy Giveaway Carnivals...

Here's another Bloggy Giveaway that I am doing.  Either click on the button, or the link to the bloggy giveaway.  There are a lot of cool things that are being given away.  I had so much fun with the last one I did, that I just couldn't resist this one.

I am giving away this Half Apron that I made.  It is made of 100% cotton fabric, and can be machine washed(cool cycle) and machine dry (low temp) with a touch of a warm iron.

If you are interested just leave a comment.  I will be closing the giveaway Friday February 1st at 12:00 P.M. Central Time.

I will pick a winner on February 2nd by 10:00 A.M. Central Time, using Random.Org.  Please leave a valid e-mail address so that if you do win I'll be able to contact you for your mailing address.

Anyone can enter, it doesn't matter if you have a blog or not, but please only one entry per person.

on Saturday I got stuck in my garage.  I couldn't go grocery shopping until the afternoon.

Our garage door spring...sprung.

I had to wait until the guys could come and fix it.

Maybe that was why my sewing was a disaster.  My routine for the day was turned backwards.  All is good with the garage door now.  It works like a charm.

I cut out another apron pattern last night.  This one is a half apron, from left over fabric.  I am going to have to start using up my scrap fabric.  I tend to over buy when I get fabric, I'm always worried that I will be short when I go to cut out the pattern.  So, today I will sew it up.  I have been buying lots of apron patterns.  I want to make them all, but I've been kind of sticking with the same pattern.  So I ventured out with this half apron and picked a different one from the ones I have been making.

My body clock is back on track...(did that sound right?)  Ever since we got back from Mexico, I have been sleeping in a bit longer.  This week I am back to where I was before we left.  My eyes pop open between 5:00-6:00 a.m.  My sleeping in, was no later than 7:30 a.m., but one day it was to 8:00 a.m.  Yikes!!!  I am not sure why that was happening, and I didn't like it.  It felt like my morning was half gone.  So, now everything is back to normal.  Yeah!!!!!

Well I am off to get my day going.

You all have a great day today.

Do you ever dream?

AND I don't mean the recent MLK dream.

I mean when you retire what do you plan on doing?  Do you plan on traveling?  Or do you plan to just stay put where you are and quietly live out your life.

Erin was Blog surfing (I guess she's learning from me) and found this really neat blog about traveling in an RV, called Travelin' By RV.  It's like seeing the country from your living room, kitchen, or wherever you computer is.

I wouldn't mind traveling around to see the country.  Jim and I really enjoyed driving to see our Army sons wherever they were stationed.  That is all a long way down the road yet for us, but if you feel like dreaming a bit, or just want to see some of the country, check out this blog.

It's a busy....

morning, with the school buses.  We have at least 4-5 buses that come through our neighborhood.  When you live on the edge of the district you will get other school buses cutting through your neighborhood.  At one time we had 5 different school buses that picked up our kids for school.  Now we are down to one.

After having a wonderful weekend, minus my sewing disaster, today is get up in the office day and cleaning day.  I have neglected places in this house that need a deep cleaning.  I hope to try again with my sewing disaster.

Today is supposed to be a heat wave, with a high of 43°.  The same for tomorrow.

I am just rambling here, so I guess that means I just better get moving and start my day.

You all have a great day today.
