I have to show you what I got in the mail the other day. I ordered this from Kelli's Etsy Shop called Seasonal Delights, where she sells elegant cards and tags. I just couldn't resist this Little Women Petite Journal. Kelli also threw in a couple of gift tags, Thanks Kelli.
I always enjoy Kelli's blog and she does really beautiful work.
Guess what I did today. I made my first very own card in a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.
These were the 3 things I had to use to make a card for Card Making 101 if I wanted to do the homework. Donna didn't want to so I took hers just in case my card was a bomb. You had to use all three items and you could also add your own stuff. What stuff??!!?!? I don't have any stuff. Well I did pick up a few things but not much, cause I don't know if I'm going to even get totally into this Scrappy thing.
Hey, I totally stole some ideas. Is that wrong? I hope not. Martha Stewart is great. I don't know anyone else, but I'll learn. Those 2 flowers are raised. I stole that idea from the class.
eta: I didn't like how the inside was so I changed it. You could barely read the words.
I wanted to do something different with that cut out flower on the top front of the card, but this flower piece of paper was way too small so I had to change it a bit.
This was fun, now I see why everyone is doing it.
Well...I made it through the demo on Smocking last night. Whew! I am not good at talking in front of people, but they all listened and really they weren't bored. At least they didn't look bored. Anyway, I made it through it and it was a fun ASG meeting. I brought my Anti-Ouch Pouches in so I'm done with those, but we'll be having a demo on them next month for those who haven't done theirs yet. I'm thinking no one signed up for a June demo and they are just trying to fill in.
I did something this week totally out of my department or one could say field of activity. My sister Donna and I went to a Card Making Class 101. Years ago we used to make cards and we both gave all our stuff away. Donna liked the class because she doesn't have to buy anything and you can go once a month. The place where we went supplies everything. I on the other hand have a HUGE project that I want to do.
This was fun BTW.
For those of you who read my blog and have been to baby showers of my daughters or daughters-in-law know that I give my children's baby books to them. Well.....not any more. Not because I don't want to. It's because I didn't write in the last 6 like I did the first 5. Does that make any sense? Those first 5 baby books were jammed filled with everything. Especially my oldest 3 then it started to go down hill from there. I have been feeling guilty about those baby books. Lauren my youngest just has her name in hers. Poor girl, (sigh) how sad is that?
Well I have been seeing over the past year, all the wonderful blogs about scrap booking, card making etc. I thought maybe I could make a memory book (if that is what you call them) for the 6 children left that don't have baby books. So that is my next "NEW" thing I am going to try to tackle. After this HUGE project is done will I keep scrap booking? I have no idea. I know this is something I need to do. I have had some great advice from Angie. Thanks Angie. So now I'm going to start by going through all our pictures.
This is just the beginning. I hope no guests are coming for awhile (jk).
This is NOT the only box of pictures I have. Maybe I need to get these in albums too or put them in scrap books too.
Boy you can see my photo albums have been well looked at. These are only a few, I have more.
