the many changes to fall

Heading out our driveway and seeing the small trees that we saved when we first moved here turning color...

to the flowers growing at the entrance to the State Park we hiked in...

to the woods by the river.

I just love this time of year.  Don't you?

a droopy head

I planted a row of sunflowers this year and not too many came up.  Out of the ones that did sprout, I had a few that the sunflower heads were pretty big.  I'm kicking myself that I didn't get out to take a photo of them until they started to droop.

water garden

I wish I had a water garden in my yard.  I just love these water lilies and it's been awhile since I've taken any photos of them.  These were taken at the House on the Rock here in Southwest Wisconsin.

bugs

Now that the weather has been cooler in the evenings we took a walk down the lane the other night.  I stopped to take a photo of this and saw two spiders of bugs of some sort.  I was wishing I had my macro lens for this, they both looked pretty interesting.

 

wild blackberries~macro monday

We are finding that we have lots of wild blackberry bushes on our property.  These are not ripe yet.

Mr and I went out in the backyard the other day to check them out.  Some were just starting to ripen.

Look at all the yummy blackberries still not ripe yet.  I can't wait until they do, wild blackberry jam sounds pretty good.

I just hope that between the deer and Mr eating them, that I'll have enough for a batch of jam :)

i took a walk...

through our woods with Sadie.  Walking with Sadie is always fun, she always has to be ahead of everyone.

But, I take my time and stop occasionally to snap some pictures.

We get a lot of deer coming through our woods.  Sadie loves sniffing the deer paths.

Here she's wanting to possibly jump in the pond, but I say no way.

So, instead of swimming, off she goes exploring.

While I continue to snap away.

Heading back up to the house.

Not too many flowers in the woodlot.  Maybe on my next walk there will be some new ones.

they don't last long, so i just had to bring them in

So, instead of having to keep going outside to enjoy their scent and loveliness.  I brought them inside to enjoy.

the fresh scent of lilacs

I'm so excited to have a lilac bush and I can't wait until it's in full bloom.  I just love the  smell of  fresh cut lilacs sitting on my kitchen table.

On Easter we took a walk through the woods with the girls.  Now it has been raining, but not as bad as some have been getting.  Tricia over at Bluff Area Daily has been dealing with flooding.  We had just passed through that area right before the rains started...Whew!
