Color week is over and I have to say I'm a bit sad...

Time to reflect:

• I've always known it but until you actually really look you forget how many shades of each color there is...you take it for granted.
• I have missed taking pictures and had fun doing color week.
• I can face anything head on and still come out standing.
• I love that I'm making some headway on some of the projects on my to-do list.
• I enjoyed the warm Spring day this week and don't mind the rain coming down...at least it's not snow.
• I love seeing my boys share the same loves as their father.
• Even though my girls are grown up, it's nice to have them still come to me when they need help.
• There's nothing like having a sister.

color week~day 7 violet

The weather was so warm yesterday I had the doors and windows open.  I started thinking about all the flowers blooming in the yard again so I decided to display my color violet in a parade of flowers.

color week~day 6 blue

Blue's the color for today.

I'm going to share with you some vintage items I have and love.

 

This salt and pepper set is not old. I received them as a gift from my daughter who took a trip last summer to Maine, she knows I love lighthouses.

Here, my dear husband is paddling in the canoe he made in the beautiful blue waters of the Upper Peninsula.

color week~day 5 green

It's green day today and when I think of green in March I think of St Patrick's day.  But, I don't think I have anything that would represent St Paddy's day.  Some of my photos I had to dig for but they are mine and if I have posted them before...sorry.  But, they will be new to those who are new to my blog.

On one of our river walks I spied this little itty bitty green grasshopper, and hey, the background is green too.

 

I spied this old snapping turtle last summer when I was on a morning bike ride.  Here he is lying on almost green grass with some green moss on it's back.

  

Ever wonder why there are ants on a Peony bush?  If you know why, please tell me, as I would love to know myself.

  

Doesn't this look like something you would love to float down on?  The river also looks green.  Guess what?  It's inside the Gaylord Opryland Hotel down in Nashville Tennessee where my DH and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at.

But hey, I do have something that could be linked to St Patrick's day...the green river.  In Chicago every St Patrick's day the city will turn the Chicago River green.  They dump some kind of dye in the river...I'm guessing that the dye isn't harmful but if you click on the link you'll find it very interesting.

color week~day 4 yellow

Today's color yellow I thought would be the hardest to find.  But, I was wrong.

One of my favorite tea cups.  I waited this one out at the local re-sale shop.  I went back at least 3 times before I was happy with the price.

 

Again, I'm thinking Spring and some yellow wildflowers.

 

Banana's that still have some yellow left before they turned brown and before they were all eaten.

My vintage yellow salt & pepper shaker lamb, who's blue mate is no longer with it because it broke and I just can't seem to part with her.

There are so many different shades of a color and it's been fun trying to find each color.  So, thinking of Spring today and everyday for the past couple of weeks I thought of a certain flower, but since there is snow on the ground I had to go to my files for this one...

I decided to join Lynn over at The Little Red Hen in color week.  I missed yesterday because I didn't check any blogs until this morning.  So, I'm going to do two in one day.
