I'm going to head back to Texas, well not really, I'm going to just show you one of the stops we made after we got off the free ferry with our van and we tooled on down the road.
We spied the most unusual looking thing. Before I could say anything Jim was already pulling off the road, I guess he knows me so well when it comes to great photo opportunities, but really he wanted to stop himself. The bus is called the Peace Train Magic Bus, and started out in Canada and has been traveling, both here and in Mexico, and we talked with the couple for awhile. The couple was packing up and they were kind enough to stop and talk to us. They were heading out to Winnie Texas to see Willie Nelson sing.
See all the colored dots on the bus? They started out with just the dots and through their travels the people they have met they allowed them to decorate a dot.
The couple asked us if we wanted to see inside of their home on wheels, being that I have such a curious mind I couldn't pass this up, lets head inside.
Meet Dar, Chris and Wallace {Wallace being the dog...lol} from left to right.
On our way to our van we spied Wallace, who believe it or not is still a puppy, he was just all tuckered out.
Taking the time to stop and talk to people is something that I've come to really enjoy. I hope you enjoyed the Peace Train Magic Bus.
Do you ever want to do this, travel and see the country, being barefoot and fancy free?
I admit it looks very inviting and who knows maybe someday I will ;) But for sure it wouldn't be in a "Peace Train Magic Bus", something more on a smaller scale is more to my liking.
How about it, does this interest you?

It sure if fun to see! And, they seem to be doing exactly what they want to do.
But us, you ask? Well, we've watched our friends who own boats and campers and motor homes. We've heard their stories of the cost and upkeep and time for repairs. We've come to the conclusion we like our Ford Edge for traveling down the road. It holds enough to pack for ten weeks on board a ship and rides so comfortably. We time our road trips to be able to stop when and where we see something interesting. We look for local restaurants to enjoy local flavor wherever we are. We spend the nights at Hampton Inns where someone else changes and washes the sheets. We feel terribly sorry when we see a couple and their dog by the road waiting for service or a tow truck. We love to travel via Ford Edge. :)

It would be wonderful to go on a long trip and just sight see all across our country. Maybe one day. :)

At my age, being a vagabond on a magic bus is not very appealing... but I do love your images, especially Wallace. What a beauty.

That bus is pretty awesome. Love the colors and the dot decorations. What a neat thing to do allowing others to decorate them. I would love to travel around but in something a little (okay a lot) less conspicuous. That Wallace is one huge puppy but he's a beauty.

Yes, very appealing! But at the moment I'm content to do day trips around Ontario. :)

Oh I love this what a cool thing to do for the young:)
I love the bus it is amazing the circles and letting others decorate them, the interior decorating, I think it would be fun if I was forty years younger.I do like a nice hotel room now.
What a great couple to let you have a tour, were they Canadian? Maybe that is why I can relate:) B

What fun. Brings back memories of the good ole hippie days. The couple was very nice to show you their bus and let you take photos of it.

You have to love their young free spirit and their Peace bus was an inspirational idea.
