Oh, what a beautiful day! Now I'll singing this song all day, go on and have a listen maybe you will too :)
What a beautiful day today is going to be. I have to show you the awesome, wonderful book I got in the mail the other day. I'm a lover and collector of cookbooks, cookbooks of any kind, and this one is chuck full of delicious looking recipes, not to mention looking at the beautiful photos by Traci. I can't wait to be able to sit down later and really thumb through it.
So how was your Valentine's Day? Did you do anything with anyone special? We went out to Prairie du Chien for dinner at Jones' Black Angus and had a wonderful meal. Then of course we had to skip over to Cabela's for a few items. When we got home we had a slice of the strawberry cake I made. It's actually Trisha's recipe but after a bad attempt at making her frosting not realizing that it won't work on a layer cake, I just made a butter cream frosting and put red sugar sprinkles on it. It still tasted pretty good.
Now for the fun part of this post. I'm so scatterbrained that I forgot that I had already ordered this magazine, then I ordered it a second time. So, now I have two. I would like to offer this copy to anyone who wants it. If more than one would like it I'll put all your names in a hat and have my hubby pick one at the end of the weekend. Don't be shy, I may even throw in a couple of other goodies as well.
Well, I have lots to do today, a couple of sewing projects on the to-do list and maybe even have a slice or two of the cake.
I hope Y'all have a wonderful day today, and now I'm off to start mine.

Well the cake looks delish and I love the post about the magic train bus.
Thanks for stopping by my blog, please do so again.

Judy, I did not get to all the blogs yesterday... I love your blog... thank you for commenting on ours. Guess what? I BOUGHT THE SAME MAGAZINE...TWICE!!!! Just like you! I should have raffled it off on the blog, I'll do that next time. I donated it, our food pantry has a giveaway basket so I recirculate there. Have to figure out how to follow your great blog!

I have just recently come across your blog and have enjoyed reading your posts and getting acquainted with the beautiful area you live in.
I must say your Valentine's Day cake looks scrumptious and so pretty too.
If you don't mind throwing a new reader's name into the hat for your magazine, I'd love the chance.
Thanks so much.

Oh Yum, the cake looks simply lucious!! The magazine has me wondering what sort of projects would be in there, we don't have that sort of magazine here. If you don't mind, can you pop me into the cap too please.
Off to do some stitching while I watch Oaklahoma ...... ;-)

Hi Judy. I am behind in my reading my blogs. In your URL part of your address is mid_life_bliss. I like that. Not a mid life crisis. You had your husband seem to have found a very nice balance to your life in retirement. I enjoy reading about your cooking and sewing projects. Your life has a nice rhythm to one--one that I am hoping that we find here--once I retire from job. You keep me inspired. Good luck on the syrup.

Hubby & I went out to dinner last night to celebrate Valentines Day.
Shopping at thrift stores and flea markets is one of my favorite things to do. I'd love to check out that mag!
Have a great weekend!
