So what pie am I? I made blueberry. I know you can grow blueberries, but I've only picked wild ones, native to Upper Michigan. Moving out here to the country, up on a ridge in the Ocooch Mountains in Southwest Wisconsin, is much like the blueberries growing in the wild. It's quiet and undisturbed, where we can live and grow.
Double Crust Pie:
2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Crisco
1/2 Cup Cold Water
Cut flour and crisco together and cold water.
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Flour
2 tsp Lemon Peel
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
4 Cups Fresh or Frozen Blueberries
Milk and Sugar to brush on top of crust.
In mixing bowl stir together flour, sugar and lemon peel, set aside.
Add lemon juice to the blueberries and mix well, add the flour/sugar mixture and mix well to coat the berries. Roll out the crust in a pie pan or you can do what I did and make little pies in ramekins or small canning jars or whatever tickles your fancy.
Bake at 375° for 45-50 minutes.
So, what pie are you?
