When the weather is bad.
Cook books for Christmas...YES!
The Trisha Yearwood cookbook I got from my sister and brought it down here. The bottom one is a really cool book from our son and daughter-in-law, it's 101 canning and pickling recipes, that we both can't wait to try them.
Blue cheese dressing...It can be made to be lower calorie by using fat-free ingredients, made from my new Trisha Yearwood cook book. I couldn't find a link to this recipe, but if you want it let me know.
With or without tomatoes and bacon? What do you think? This dressing tasted so good I served it for lunch AND dinner.
French breakfast puffs...also made to have less calories and not as much butter as Ree uses...from The Pioneer Woman's cook book.
Fresh ground cardamon added instead of nutmeg...A+
If the rainy weather keeps up, we'll see what else I come up with to make.

I love baking but not cooking :)
I bake even original Finnish rye bread which is sour without yeast - only a sourdough, what is very old coming from my childhood. And also grandchildren want just my rye bread at first when they step inside :))
But a taste is good only for them who have used to it from their childhood.
Cooking is to me "must do anyway everyday thing" ;)
Good day to you Judy!

I have that Trisha Yearwood Cookbook, actually have two of hers and I LOVE them, they're so good.
Not a fan of Pioneer Woman though LOL
Beautiful picture you posted too, makes me miss the ocean :)

everything looks delicious! the only weather that keeps me from cooking and baking is when temps are too high to heat up my kitchen. :)

The breakfast puffs look very good! I have Ree's first cookbook and love her recipes. Trisha's cookbook is one I've been eyeing at Barnes and Noble and have thought about buying. Glad to hear you like it. Now, what will I fix for supper? I love to collect recipes more than I love to cook. :)

I love to bake and cook in the cold weather as well. Makes the house smell so good. :)
