I've been mia for a few days here on the blog. We scooted over to San Antonio for the weekend. Our son and daughter-in-law came down to the beach house to stay for a little mini vacation for themselves. I'll try as best I can to share all that we had seen and done. I'll also be posting photos over at my other blog, so you can check out the photos I post there.
Our main reason for going was to see The Alamo.
Our hotel was very close to the San Antonio River Walk.
The streets were lit up in lights which was so pretty, and there were so many people just walking around, just enjoying being there much like we were.
We stopped for a bite to eat down on the river walk, and I tried taking a photo of us. Hubby is sporting a beard for the very first time in our married life, or for that matter his whole life. He decided not to shave before we even came down here and this is what happened. It may be a bit gray, but I don't care, I like it :)
On our way back we stopped to pick up Sadie who stayed the weekend with our 3 daughters at their apartment. We had thought to put her in a kennel here, but since our daughter Lo offered to take here we took her up on it. I think Lauren has secretly been missing her :) They say she was good, and we could tell that she much enjoyed her stay there vs a kennel.
We also stopped in at our son's for a visit, they were back from the beach house early as our granddaughter had school the next day. It was early bed time I think for her.
I had to laugh, our granddaughter asked me "how our vacation from our vacation was". I just love being around her, she comes up with the dandiest things.
Hope Y'All have a wonderful day!

Oh Judy... San Antonio...its on my bucket list to visit!! It looks so nice! I can hardly wait. We were suppose to do it this April, until hubby sent back to work:)) And the beard... looks good.... my has grown two in our married life.......

San Antonio is great, especially the River Walk. So pretty down there. And the Alamo is amazing.

A vacation from a vacation. Sounds so wonderful. It may be chilly down there, but here it is darn cold: 15. I have always wanted to go to San Antonia. My brother lives close by in the hill country. So petty there. Enjoy.

Great shot of you and your husband. Bill has always had a beard, at least since we met in 1978. Bill's beard used to be brown but now it's the same color as your husband's. I like beards. The city in lights is so pretty.

What a lovely place to visit! My husband is in Dallas for the next few days. There's no place quite like Texas!

Great images of the River Walk. It has been a few years since I have been there. And, about that beard. I've never seen my husband of many, many years without his (very handsome!) beard. He would scare the grand kids terribly if he ever shaved it now.
