Our peas are doing wonderfully, and taste so good in a spinach salad.

The twigs that Jim stuck in the ground for them to climb up worked like a charm.

I wish I could have a garden all year round, there is just nothing like fresh food you grew yourself.
I agree I would love a garden all year!!...I would even like a little longer season... I am very limited to what I can grow!

I love flower gardens. I've had limited success, between the deer and slugs. I plant "deer resistant" flowers in the front yard and around my impatiens, I have to put little containers of beer. The slugs are attracted to the beer, they get in the container and die.

I love sweet peas. I used to grow a bunch of different varieties and miss having a vegetable garden. I have covered boxes and a greenhouse so I was able to get a head start on things. I still occasionally notice vegetables pop up in my boxes from when a few plants went to seed. I've even had volunteer tomatoes and peas to remind me of when I had a major vegetable garden. The first year after I stopped growing my vegetables I had volunteer tomato plants that gave me a few tomatoes. Part of that was I dumped my compost (from when I used to do a lot of composting) in the old vegetable boxes. I think some seeds stayed viable in the compost and gave me presents.
