They have been trying to build nests in our garage. We have to keep the doors closed otherwise we are constantly shooing them out. While we were out voting yesterday Jim showed me where many barn swallow nests could be found.
You can see under the eaves of the roof all the mud nests where the barn swallows live.
The nests are pretty neat looking and I'll show you something else we spied on our way home, only that isn't as nice, so stay tuned.

oh my goodness! wow!!! have never seen such a proliferation of them!

I think that is a neat Town Hall building! I bet it has a story.
Good Luck with the barn swallows in your garage.

The swallows certainly found a unique place to build their community of nest.
Charge them rent and maybe they will leave.

It's like a multi-family dwelling.

They do make a mess when they are in a barn...but under an overhang seems better for cleaning up the litter. But I do appreciate that barn swallows eat tons and tons of flying insects. :)

The nests are cool looking. Amazing to me how they build them.
