Can you believe that it's that time of year where the wood stove is getting fired up? We didn't get it blazing hot, just a low fire to enjoy the warmth.
We did already use the heat once at our place up north (now affectionately called The Cabin) but haven't had our first fire of Autumn yet. Warms the soul, doesn't it?!
My name is Judy and I'm the owner of this blog.
Thank You for visiting.
I'm a...Wife...Mom of 11...Grandma to many...Homemaker and Blogger...living in a log cabin here at Gentle Hearth Farm.
I'm originally from Northeast Illinois, and my husband & I now live on 20 acres in Southwest Wisconsin up on a ridge in the Ocooch Mountains, 10 miles from the nearest town. My husband and I are empty nesters trying to figure out life after kids.
I blog, quilt, knit, sew, bake/cook and take pictures of just about anything.
There is so much that I want to do, but there is just not enough time in the day to do everything, so I have to pick and choose, and I try to live each day in the present, life is so much nicer if you do.

I so miss my wood stove. There's nothing like wood heat - I just about freeze now with natural gas.

Oh fun! Hasn't been that cold for us yet, but I think a few neighbors have had their fireplaces on since I can smell it outdoors in the evenings.

We've been rather spoiled here the past few days. Lows in the 50s at night. No need for any heat yet, but it's comin'. :) A lovely photo, Judy!

If I had that stove, I would probably have a fire off and on through the summer even...no joke.
